Recently the Eufaula Fire and Rescue decided to try out a product named drench. We purchased (2 quart bottles and placed on quart of drench in each 750 gallon booster tank of our three pumpers.

On 22 June 1995 we responded to a fully involved house fire in which the first arriving engine company made an interior fire attack using booster tank water treated with drench. The results were beyond our belief as the fire that was venting out the front, both sides and the attic, was completely extinguished within seconds from the initial attack. No hydrant water was needed!

The house was wood frame and wood sided containing a large amount of seasoned pine lumber (fat lighter).

On 14 July 1995 we responded to a fully involved house fire in which the first arriving engine company made an interior fire attack using booster tank water treated with drench. The results were the same. The fire was extinguished before a supply line from a fire hydrant could be brought in to the attack pumper.
